Edward W. Rice Scholarship

This scholarship is for any dependent children of Teamsters Local 493 members, entering or presently attending college. The member must be an active member, paid up to date and a member for not less than two (2) years at the application deadline. Information for 2025 will be posted early spring 2025.

Include a short essay on “GROWING UP IN A UNION FAMILY”, with remittance of your application to the Local. It is mandatory that you include a Letter of Attendance or Acceptance from the school that he / she is attending or planning to attend. The deadline to receive applications is Thursday, May 22, 2025.

The drawing for the scholarships will be on Sunday, June 08, 2025 at the regular quarterly meeting. It is mandatory that the member submitting a son or daughter’s name be present at the quarterly meeting. Children do not attend the meeting. If you are not present and your child’s name is picked, another name will be pick in his/her place.
