• James R. Hoffa Scholarship

  Continuing the legacy of supporting Teamster families For over 25 years, the James R. Hoffa Memorial Scholarship Fund has been awarding scholarships to the children of Teamster members. Vocational scholarships applications for the James R. Hoffa Memorial Scholarship Fund are available now. Awards are up to $2,000. • Joint Council 10 of New England Scholarship Fund

  This scholarship program selects a minimum of one student from each Local Union by random drawing at a Joint Council 10 Executive Board Meeting. High school seniors who plan to attend an accredited college, university or vocational school are eligible to apply for the scholarships.  The member must be an active member and paid up to date.  Scholarship applications will be available in January 2026. • Edward W. Rice Scholarship

  This scholarship is for any dependent children of Teamsters Local 493 members, entering or presently attending college. The member must be an active member, paid up to date and a member for not less than two (2) years at the application deadline. Applications for 2026 are now available. Please call 860-848-9201 x10 or email info@teamsters493.org. Include a short essay on "GROWING UP IN A UNION FAMILY", with remittance of your application to the Local. You must include a Letter of Attendance or Acceptance from the school that he/she is attending or planning to attend. The deadline to receive applications is Thursday, May 21, 2026. The drawing for the scholarships will be on Sunday, June 07, 2026 at the regular quarterly meeting. It is mandatory that the member submitting a son or daughter's name be present at the quarterly meeting. Children do not attend the meeting. If you are not present and your child's name is picked, another name will be picked in his/her place.
